October:

  1. The Train Trip to Winnsboro, SC was well attended. The actual train ride, while short was fun and exciting (note to self, don’t wear black when taking steam train ride.) The food at both ends of the event was pretty darn good too.

November:

  1. Dave Winkler still doesn’t know he is in charge of setting up November’s breakfast for the 21st and he wasn’t at tonight’s meeting to tell him. The president allows that a swift kick in the head may be required.

December:

  1. The Club’s year-end Holiday Blow Out will be on Saturday the 12th at the Schumacher manse. Bring a nosh and a gift for the always exciting swaperoo.

Respectfully submitted:

As if that wasn’t enough excitment already, a lunch is planned for afterwards at Rebecca’s of Ridgeway in, you guessed it, nearby Ridgeway, SC.

September Meeting Minutes

Where: Ryan’s in North Augusta
When: September 3, 2009
Who: Donna & Brian Bogardus, Kurt & James Breitinger, Gail & Miller Butler, John & Carol Haff, John & Jackie Nicholls, Dave & Autumn Schumacher, Denny Smith, Patti & Rudy Wilmoth and Dave Winkler.

Treasurer’s Report: $1,253.98.

Past Events :

  1. The August meeting was moved about 100 feet east and was held at the West Side Bowery instead of Papa Russ’s BBQ.
  2. Bugs were splatted on the evening of August 22nd. The least bugs was flattened by the Schumacheers, the most by the Bogardi, the most strategically placed was the one on the nose of the Nicholls’s car, but the much heralded Biggest Bug Trophy went home with Denny Smith.
  3. Breakfast at the Schumacher’s was a resounding success. The kitchen was the favored place, but coming in a close second was the media room with it’s 100″ diagonal TV screen.

Future Events:

  1. Breakfast for September will be at Ari’s Grill in Aiken, a hole in the wall place that does an awesome hamburger, but serves just the kind of breakfast this event was made for.
  2. September is othersise empty event wise, but October looks crowded with possibly a Phinizy Swamp Tour and a tech day early in the month and the definite train ride on the 18th.

When: June 4, 2009
Who: Bill & Bonnie Baugh, Donna & Brian Bogardus, Gail & Miller Butler, Carol & John Haff, John & Jackie Nicholls, Dave & Autumn Schumacher, Stacey Timmerman, Patti & Rudy Wilmoth and Dave Winkler.

Treasurer’s Report: $1,042.98.

Past Events :

  1. May’s meeting was very well attended. Perhaps the turnout of nearly everyone on the roster was to prevent being nominated in absentia.
  2. Six folks in 3 cars traveled to Harlem for May’s breakfast on the 16th.
  3. The Shumachers, both in solo and sometimes in harmony, gave a recap of their trip to Miata World II in Dallas. The celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Miata sounded like a blast.

Future Events:

  1. June’s breakfast is going to be on the 20th before the Ridge Peach Parade in Trenton, SC. No breakfast place has been set yet, someone thought that the Garner’s were going to find an eating spot, but they were not at the meeting to confirm or deny this. Stacey said he’d contact them and find out what is what.
  2. After a brief discussion it was decided that the Pool Party at the Butler’s on Saturday the Fourth of July will begin at 10:00 AM with brunch. To be followed by swimming in the nearly extinct pool, this will be followed up by a late lunch of hot dogs and trimmings. Our hosts have some place to be in the evening, so everyone must get gone by 5:30PM.

Actual Business:

  1. Last month’s promised exciting elections were anything but, the nominated slate was voted in by acclimation. John Nicholls – President, Rudy Wilmoth – Vice President, Donna Bogardus – Secretary & Brian Bogardus – Treasurer.

July’s meeting on the 2nd will be the traditional Fireworks at Fort Gordon one. Meet at the Cracker Barrel at 7:00 PM for the drive over.
