Updated the Itinerary for Saturday to include TN Foothills Parkway optional drive.

Optional TN Foothills Parkway Loop. If the group desires we can turn right in Chilhowee, TN and head North to Walland, TN along the NC Foothills Parkway. From Watertown, TN to Maryville, TN along Route 321 (E Lamar Alexander Parkway) and then Route 411 South toward Tellico Plains. This will add about an hour and a half to the afternoon’s drive. We will stop at Bojangles in Maryville (about an hour from the end of the Tail).

All times are rough estimates depending on time, weather and pace.

That is a lot of driving on just standard roads, see nothing really exciting. Earring at the bakery is such a treat to miss. A suggestion is take a side trip off of 165 on way to Robbibsville on parkway. Turn right on Turkey Creek which is about 20 miles from Tellico Plains and drive to Bald River Falls. Only about 5 miles off of the parkway

It is with regrets due to a conflict, we are having to cancel out from the mountain trip. Sorry to miss everyone, but maybe next time.
Hope everyone has a great weekend, good weather, and some nice colors.
    Have fun and be safe!

Here is the optional drive Ed has suggested. We will decide after we eat at the Tellico Grains Bakery.

The 90-foot-high Bald River Falls is recognized as one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the region. It is easily accessed from Tellico River Road (NFRS 210) and provides outstanding photographic opportunities. Parking is limited, and visitor use is high on weekends and holidays. If possible, plan your visit during weekdays.

Directions: From Tellico Plains – turn onto TN 165 for approximately 5 miles, turn right onto FR 210 going past Ranger Station. Bald River Falls will be 6 miles upstream on the right. Restrooms: NONE
