June Breakfast & Trenton Peach Parade

Where: 8 AM at the Airport Grill (803–663–7006), 1301 Bettis Academy Rd., Trenton, SC. – map

If you can’t make breakfast, you can just meet us at The Airport Grill @ 9:00 AM.

We will depart the Airport Grill at 9 o’clock for a short drive via some back roads and hopefully drive by some peach orchards on the way to Trenton, South Carolina and the 46th Annual Ridge Peach Festival. We will line up at about 9:40 on Wise Street and the parade will start at 10:30.

There will be food, vendors, crafters, children’s rides and a great parade in which we will drive in. Start practicing those parade waves and bring some candy to throw to the crowd. After the parade we’ll hang around and soak up the atmosphere.

Parade Laps at Carolina Motorsports Park

Where: McDonald’s Exit 22 off I-20 in SC – map

Assemble EARLY at the McDonald’s parking lot because we will leave PROMPTLY at 8:30 AM, and plan to arrive between 10:00 and 10:30. We will not be taking a “scenic route” to CMP near Kershaw, SC, rather we will be driving straight on I-20 to US 601 to the track.

We will enjoy approx 8 laps on the 2.2 mile track with 14 turns thanks to Club member John Haff. Our parade laps will be during “lunchtime”, sometime between 1100 AM and noon. We will need to sign liability waivers before being allowed on the track. No special vehicle equipment, e.g., roll bars/cages, fire extinguishers, no fire suits or helmets will be required for drivers or passengers. We will be staging in the paddock area for the laps, and will be directed there by track staff. Don’t forget to display whatever Club regalia you have, car magnets, logoed shirts/caps, jackets, pins, etc.

There will be no charge for the laps or to stay for the day, but you may, if you wish, donate $10.00 per car to the fund for children’s Christmas Toys, that National Auto Sport Association (NASA), supports. You are welcome to stay the day (also no charge); there will be concessions (to purchase lunch etc), and an evening BBQ (also no charge). All in all, sounds like a wonderful day!

PLEASE let me know by noon on Thursday if you are planning to attend – my cell phone number is 803-640-2406 if you want to call or text, or email, or go oldskool and leave message on my home answering machine 803-648-7374.

April Breakfast

Where: Ridgecrest Coffee Bar – map

Didn’t get enough of the muffins and coffee two weeks ago, come on by and try a panini (or vice versa.) If the food and company aren’t enough to bring you out of the house on Saturday, April 15th, Bob promises he’ll do your taxes for free while you wait (as long as you let him keep the refund.)
