Meeting Minutes for January 7th, 2016

When: January 7th, 2015

Where: BJ Country Buffet in North Augusta

Who: Brian and Donna Bogardus, Mike and Shirley Dyer, Larry and Rita Garner, Dennis and Karol Mason, Stacey Timmerman, Tom Varallo.

The restaurant is a buffet so we got started eating right away. After a good dinner Tom called the meeting to order.

Treasurer’s Report: Started at $1507.47 plus $20 from dues payments plus $46 from pin sales, minus $28.84 for MMC Club pamphlets to post at Gerald Jones Mazda, and minus $3 for bank fees for a final total of $1541.63.

Old Business:
• Tom Varallo has new pins available for $3.00 ea (look very nice) and ‘Support Vehicle’ magnets for $25.00 per pair.

New Business:
• Reminder to everyone that we voted to begin the new year as a new start for dues. So if everyone who is currently a member pays $5 that will pay you up through Dec 2016.
• The officers unanimously voted to make a $100 donation to the Aiken County ASPCA in John Nichols honor.
• Then we began planning this year’s events. Thanks to Dennis Mason for putting together an outline of dates and proposed events.

MiniTec Visit

Where: Waffle House!?! – map

Unable to find a by-the-book Mom & Pop breakfast joint convenient to our route, we’ve opted for fast, cheap and a good starting point. Meet us at 8:00 AM at the Waffle House at 1171 W Martintown Rd in North Augusta just off Exit 1 for breakfast. Or just arrive at 9:00 AM for the drive.

We will be taking a 100 or so mile drive to Royston, Georgia to visit a shop called MiniTec that has been stuffing Honda V-6 engines in the original Minis for over a dozen years and has now started doing the same thing for 1990-2005 Miatas. They offer kits to packages and probably even turnkey if your pockets are big enough.

Tentative schedule is we will do a breakfast from 8-9:00 AM, drive to Royston and arrive around 11-ish. We would spend about an hour or so at the shop (or as long as they can stand us.) Afterwards maybe lunch in Royston or just drive home, your choice.

Don’t worry South Carolina Republicans, we’ll be home in plenty of time for you to cast your vote in the primary.

Gala Anniversary Dinner XXIII

Where: French Market Grill – map

The French Market Grille is located in Surrey Center, at 425 Highland Avenue, in Augusta, GA.
We’ll have a semiprivate room so we can be our usual loud and raucous selves.
Here is a link to their MENU
