Ten Years (& A Month*) Ago – December 2001

Holiday Party

Date: Saturday, December 15, 2001
Time: 6:00 PM
Place: 4169 Sigman Drive
Members Attending: Bill Baugh, Bonnie Baugh, Brian Bogardus, Donna Bogardus, Karen Breitinger, Kurt Breitinger, Jim Creer, Judy Creer, Carol Haff, John Haff, Lisa Rushton, Scott Rushton, Cindy Timmerman, Stacey Timmerman and Rudy Wilmoth.

Nearly one third of the Club showed up at Kurt & Karen’s house dressed in their holiday finery and carrying gifts and food of untold riches.

After Stacey said the blessing, we, as Jethro would say, “Commence ta eatin'” and like Jethro we ate more than we should have, but that is what holidays are for aren‘t they?

After eating, we all gathered in the family room for the main event, the gift giving tug-of-war. Most of the gifts were quite nice. A few even passed through several hands before being retired. Only 2 were of questionable taste. One, talking frog alarm clock ended up with the Timmermans, but they weren’t too upset as they had a person in mind who would “appreciate” it. The other was the leopard fuzz and rubber steering wheel cover that Brian brought last year and the Breitingers got stuck with. They wrapped it back up and stuck in the pile as an extra gift. As chance would have it, no one picked it! Karen & Kurt fessed up as to what they did, so Brian opened it and took the thing home, vowing to bring it back next year.

*The & A Month is because I didn’t post one last month and there isn’t really anything from January 2002 anyway.
