April Meeting Minutes

Where: Eejay’s in Aiken, SC
When: April 3, 2008
Who: Charlotte Avant, Bill & Bonnie Baugh, Donna & Brian Bogardus, Gail & Miller Butler, Jackie & John Nicholls, Dave & Autumn Schumacher, Rudy Wilmoth and Dave Winkler.

Treasurer’s Report: Eleven fifty-four and change.

Past Events:

  1. The March Breakfast at the North Leg Restaurant in Augusta was a rousing success. Quintessential breakfast joint, the only concessions to modern times was the waitress didn’t have a beehive hair-do and she was wearing jeans instead of a checkered dress with white apron.
  2. Tech day was lightly attended and the only real teching that went on was on Larry Garner,s car, he changed out most of the fluids. Rudy painted his rusty top hats and Brian baked his headlights.
  3. Brian & Donna along with Kurt Breitinger, Stacey Timmerman and Carol Haff all participated in the BMW Ultimate Drive for the Cure at Taylor BMW. They stole a good 2 hour chunk of time out of the middle of the day (for a worthy effort I’ll admitt, the survivor’s drive) but we still managed to raise some money and have fun. If power corrupts, then the 2008 M3 Coupe corrupts absolutely.
  4. The inclement weather caused the Bogarduses to call off the trip to the Food Lion Auto Fair. The fall version of that event was placed on the calendar, hopefully it will not rain on that day.

Future Events:

  1. The April breakfast will be Saturday the 19th at Al’s in North Augusta followed by, if anyone is interested, a tour historic homes.
  2. The following Saturday will be the TSD Rally. This year featuring a shorter course and a Fisher-Price “My First Rally” option.

Old Business:

  1. Earlier in March the President posted a question on the web site soliciting thoughts on dues, should they stay or should they go. A few people chimed in with their thoughts and after some discussion here it was put to a vote, keeping the status quo won out.

The next meeting will be at Sconyer’s BBQ in Augusta on May 1st.

Respectfully submitted:
Donna Bogardus
Club Secretary
