Game Night

When: Saturday, November 11th, 6:00PM
Attending: Brian & Donna Bogardus, Gail & Miller Butler, John & Jackie Nicholls, Rudy & Patti Wilmoth and Bobbie & Dave Winkler.

A dozen of us gathered at the Butler’s to played games and eat finger foods. Four of us played a game of Scrabble while the other eight, in 2 groups of four, played dominoes. After a few games or so, a call went up to play something that all of us could partake in together. A couple people voted for charades, but two people, one of which was me, vowed to go stand outside in the rain rather than play that. We ended up playing Trivial Pursuit, the original Genus Edition which caused quite a few of us to have to relive the 80’s.

Elmcroft Senior Drive

When: Saturday, November 11th, 2:00PM
Attending: Bill Baugh, Brian Bogardus, John Bowles, Miller Butler, Denny Smith, Rudy Wilmoth and Dave Winkler.
Guests Attending: Theresa Mann, Jim Moore and Russ Schwalbert.

Five, six, then seven, Miatas lined up outside Elmcroft. We had one Miata with a Porsche Boxster body kit and a rep from the local Mazda dealer had brought a new 3rd gen Miata (unfortunately not the retractable hard top version) for us to use if we needed. Just when we thought they were done arriving…number 8 pulled in. John started to match up riders with vehicles and when he was more than halfway done, in pulled car #9.

There were only 8 seniors willing to risk life and limb by riding around in a zippy little sports cars, so Dave Winkler parked his car and jumped in the new MX-5 loaner which already had a passenger loaded. It was a near perfect fall day for a drive, sunny and upper seventies with plenty of colorful leaves still on the trees. we took a nice 35 mile drive up to and over the dam at Lake Thurmond and back.

When we got back and unloaded our passengers there was some coffee, punch and cookies provided for a post drive snack and as always John had neat goodie bags for the drivers. This time beacuse of Theresa’s influence there was even a nice little female oriented prize in the bag to go along with the usual guy/car related stuff.
